Superstition Lakes Dental Service List

Services

  • Preventative

    • Complete Exam

For all new patients, a full set of X-rays, intraoral exam, periodontal charting, and oral cancer screening are completed.

    • Teeth Cleanings

The American Dental Association recommends a cleaning every six months, and under certain circumstances every three months. We offer regular cleanings, as well as deep cleanings called "scaling and root planning" as recommended by the dentist.

    • Children's Exam and Cleaning

We treat children ages 2 and up if the children are cooperative. A children's exam consists of an intraoral evaluation, x-rays (if allowed by the child), cavity detection, prophylactic cleaning, and fluoride placement. For children's enjoyment, we have a train set to play with, Nintendo games, and movies to watch during treatment. Each child will also receive a free goody bag upon completion of the examination.

    • Sealants

A protective coating placed on the surface of the teeth to fill in the grooves where decay often starts.

    • Fluoride Varnish

Another protective coating that is painted on the surface of the teeth. This varnish remains for up to 24hrs delivering extended fluoride release that strengthens teeth better than any other known method.

    • Night Guards

Helps to protect teeth and relieve jaw joint pain and stress caused by clenching and grinding.

    • Limited Exam

An exam that focuses on a specific site of dental emergency.

    • Intraoral Camera

Photographs and video of intraoral areas help to prevent missed decayed areas or other damage or pathology that may be difficult to see with the naked eye.

    • SPECTRA Fluorescence Cavity Detection

Revolutionary cavity detection capability. Uses fluorescent light that during evaluation caused healthy teeth to glow green and cavities to glow red. This allows for more conservative treatment, and improved treatment capability.

  • Restorative

    • Resin Fillings

After the bacteria and cavity have been removed from a tooth, resin fillings are used to fill in the remaining holes. These fillings are made of a special composite material with nano sized particles that help strengthen the tooth as well as create a more esthetic result by matching the existing tooth color. The fillings almost become invisible. We use the finest, most up-to-date materials.

    • Crowns

When a tooth is broken, has extensive decay, or has cracked, a crown is used to strengthen and protect the damaged tooth. A crown is a porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal covering that is placed over the compromised tooth giving the appearance of a natural tooth, restoring function, and protecting the underlying tooth from further damage.

    • Bridges

This type of procedures restores gaps between teeth caused by one or more missing teeth, improving esthetics and function in the area. Bridges are often made of porcelain and other similar materials.

    • Implants

Another option to restore spaces due to missing teeth. An implant is a replacement for a tooth's root. After the implant is placed and healed, we place a crown over the top of the implant.

    • Dentures

Both Full Dentures and Partial dentures are used when there are multiple areas of missing teeth. A properly made denture is hardly, if at all, noticeable, and improves function, esthetics, and confidence.

    • Root Canals

When there is damage to the inside of a tooth due to decay, or trauma, a root canal successfully removes and replaces the interior of the tooth with a special sealer material.

    • Extractions

Under certain circumstances, a tooth may need to be removed.
